contoured bodies

confront

inside out; the body confronts the surrounding environment

cartographic stitching

abstracted bodies

Body as site, dynamic manner

Radical dimension;
Moving trajectories within pivotal joints

Dramatic and radical motion

bodies

Dynamic relationship between 'bodies'

String between hands - two sets of hand and string intertwining them, fingers play aganist each other.

week 4, part 1b presentation

part 1b presentation

taking a curational approach to present the experiments I have undertaken until this point, accompanied by my research snapshot, diagrammatic theories and makings with words.

translating hands

this model illustrates a contoured hand, which along with the model brain aims to pose the hand as a space, as a landscape.

strands of cotton accompany the model as they wrap from the hand out, the cotton is fixed on the surface and then let lose

this conceptual model demonstrates the execution of thought, also creating a 'space' occupied by thought, and the translation of the intangible to the tangible, from the inside into the outside

conscious contours

contoured brain, conscious contours

the brain illustrated as a space, as a landscape

con.tour
noun
1.
the outline of a figure or body; the edge or line that defines or bounds a shape or object.
2.
contour line.
3.
Phonetics a distinctive pattern of changes in pitch, stressor tone extending across all or part of anutterance, especially across a sentence, and contributing to meaning.

mapping

this experiment illustrated quite a literal interpretation of 'body as a site'

an accurate map of Wellington city, illustrated onto the leg/foot

the path the leg/foot took through the mapped space was then mapped out, mapping the body, on the body
